My Luftwaffe

I thought I’d share with everyone a few pics of my first of many(I hope) Luftwaffe aircraft. This is also my first airbrushed model. Feel free to comment on it: good or bad. I’m still learning the ropes![:D]

Looks awsome[:D] 1/72nd scale?

Lookd good to me.

What kit, and what scale?

Karl

Cool camo, nice build! What kit? What scale?

Very nice build and camo paint job. The antenna wires look a little out of scale, but overall a great build. Keep em coming.

Good effort. May I guess that it is the Academy 1/72 kit…?
Is it as good as the rest 1/72 series…?
Keep up the good work.

thyamis has got it… it’s the Academy 1/72 kit with a tiny Kubelwagen. I built the model completely out of the box, including the decals. the kit is awsome. I bought two more Luftwaffe 1/72 kits by Academy after this(the Bf 109G-6 and the Ju 87G-1) and they look just as good.

I heard that you can get very thin antenna wires that are elastic and durable. What is it and where can i get it?

Thanks for the positive comments guys!![:D]

Nice FW-190 very well done. Keep us posted on all your work. Well done chap. Well done.

Good job!

Look forward to seeing your other Luftwaffe planes.

Looking Good! [tup]
How did you mask your cammo pattern?

very nice ,I like the look of it.
Lovely job with the weathering.

Antenna wire? get invisible thread at a haberdashery ,this stuff is really
tough ,fix one end with cyano then let it dry.Fix the other end and cyano again.
you might need accelerator to get it to dry fast and stay taut, if not, use
thin cyano.

i like man, i like!!! i have 2 luftwaffe birds sitting over there getting geared up to build. those pics just inspires me further as i love cammo!! later.

For the wings and the fuselage, I used index cards cut to shape and attached to the model with blue tack. This way the masks are easy to remove. The mottling was done freehand. I will get the fine tip for my Badger 350, so hopefully the ‘dots’ will be smaller the next time! (I used the medium tip for this one)[:D]

What’s Blue Tack?

I don’t really know how to explain it, but go to www.aircraftresourcecenter.com, click on “Tools 'n Tips” in the banner on the top of the page, and look for ‘masking’. It has several good articles about hard edge and soft edge masks

well done. looks very good.
