It seems like ages since my last post but I have kept myself very busy. The awful english weather has delayed most of my projects, but I have managed to put some work into this one.
It is the Hasegawa 1/24 Willys Jeep with the Eduard PE set.
The finish was achieved with a base coat of OD, then multiple washes of brown and black watercolour, then a coating of brown pastel rubbed in. To top it off I sprayed a dust coat over the whole model.
I still have a bit to do before I call it complete but any suggestions are welcome.
Astonishin, I didn’t even know they had those in 1/24. I don’t know of course what theatre you’re Willys is supposed to be in, but if it were rolling in England or Belgium or so I would suggest adding some mud under mudguards. That would probably look familiar to us, living in wet countries. [;)]
I just finished my Hasegawa 1/24th Jeep for the BotB GB. Going have to build it with the PE now, it adds a lot of detail. Seem to be a good kit the goes together well, no real problems.
Thanks for the replies, the build went OK , the hardest part was removing the bits on the plastic that were replaced with PE. The engine is also highly detailed but somehow the hood got stuck down, probably with future. I will try and open it up tonight and get a few pics.
I have not decided on a base yet so I may add some mud when I get round to mounting it.
