Terry, very nice build of the Mirage friend!![tup] later.
I admit I’m more of prop man, but I really like the Mirage. Nicely done.
Gilmund,
Here’s the story of the post-shading. I did the pre-shading with black acrylic using a brush (I was running low on airbrush gas canister at the time, so I was cheaping out again), hence it did not have a fuzzy effect to it. When I finally airbrushed the camo, the solid pre-shade edges still showed through the paint. It just didn’t look good. I had to spray an extra layer or two of the camo paint to cover it, defeating the purpose of the pre-shade.
So after the camo is done, I had to do “post-shade” to bring the weather effect back again. This time with VERY thinned black enamel using an airbrush, lightly over the panel lines. Acrylic probably won’t work because very thinned acrylic is basically water and it won’t stick to the surface.
My original plan of saving myself some airbrush can gas ended up costing me more. Go figure.

Terry,
Very nice. The Mirage is a very pretty jet - and you did a great job on it.
