My JagDPanther is COMPLETED! (less paint and decals)

I just got started on the kit, and only have part of the torsion suspension done. It really works like a real tanks suspension if I understand right. I realized that it also comes with a full gear box, so all I need to do is add my motors and I will be cruising! Here are pics of step number one, completed:

you don’t lack for projects do you ?!? [:D]
or building time!

how can you go so fast using tube glue?
[:p]

No kidding… you are a building fool…

I have been contemplating buying this kit… Any word on quality…?

You’re a very busy builder! Can you sell me some of that enthusiasm?? I can’t get moving these days…

In your other post about this kit I mentioned that Tamiya released their 1/25 Panther with a nice RC unit a coupla years ago. As it is essentially the same kit (naughty Academy!), and the Jagdpanther and Panther share the same lower hull (just like the real deals), if you found that Tamiya RC setup, it should drop right in to the kit you are building. You’d also get the Tamiya indy link tracks (don’t worry-they snap together), which while not as accurately detailed as the new Academy belt-style tracks, do a better job of capturing the look and feel of the sagging Jagdpanther tracks.

Only two problems with the Tamiya RC Panther:

  1. It’s out of production now.
  2. It cost about $250 USD!

I’m sure with your RC car background you could design your own RC system for significantly less.

Anyway, looking forward to seeing your finished Jagdpanther!
Speaking of finishing, my Jadgpanther has been waiting to be weathered for about 4 years now…painted, ready to go, just needs a li’l weather!

Check out my nice ‘n’ shiny Tamiya Jagdpanther, fresh off the showroom floor:

I’ve GOT to get some motivation and finish that baby up!

I got some of those “waiting around” projects myself J-Hulk. For me its called to many builds at one time and then a new kit is bought and well I think ya know what I mean.

And jeeeese, as I said before do you sleep WWII? I thought I lived eat and sleep models.[:D] How does your girlfriend respond to all this “plastic love” or did she already.[}:)]

AWWWWWW aint she purrttie. Get dirty already!!![^]
Your gonna make me go out and buy that kit now…AAAAUUUUUUUUUUuuHHHHH!!!.

road wheels assembled, tracks built and in place…

So far quality is great…But probably because it is the same as the tamiya!

~painting can come later~[:)]

Thundergod,
it seems he sleeps at night and models during the day.
the question is: when does he WORK !?!??! [:D][:D]

J-Hulk,
great looking Jagdpanther, but it seems a bit clean! [:D]
i have seen some of your finished work, so i can only hope that the bug bites you again and you get it in motion!
if not for yourself, then think of us! [:p]

WWIISoldier,
go man go!
those tracks look very tight.

Yes they do look alittle on the no sag side.

I feel old.

Yeah, that is because they do not sag when loose, they just get loose on the ends… Anyone know how to fix this? Thanks for the comments!

As for work, I have a few days off here, so I can just build and build and build while you guys work and work and work! [:)][:)][:)][:)]

How do ya feel old there ausf?

umm . . .
of you want to o some fabrication & hiding, someone made ‘rollers’ recently
to force some sag on their model w/ working track.
that would be Ausf:

check out his solutions & comments/suggestions.

sure, rub it in! [}:)][:)]

nice job WWII that must be a big kitty , working suspension too , does it have a working mini motor as well ? JHulk: you come up with some pretty cool camo schemes for you tanks , was that an actual scheme used or just yours ?, cuz it should have been used its distracting to the eye for sure , I love the combo of green grey and yellow NICE!!!

This thread just brings me back to the days when I last built models…Back when I actually had to slow down the build so it would last a week until I had more grass cutting money for another.
These days, if I can pick up an exacto once or twice a week, It’s good.

That and WWIIsoldier’s progress makes me feel like I’m standing still.[;)]

AAAAAHHHHHHH I see and I hear ya. As for my speedy days are gonna come to an end in 2 weeks.

Brian, i had the same question as Sean. Did you ad-lib the colors or did you see one like that in a book or something?

UPDATE:

here are some indevidual assemblies:
