well here are the pics. I was very happy with the way it turned out. i did it yesterday afternoon and evening.
Looks good Chris. Hopefully I can get my little one like that.
Cute little kit there, now if they would just make a decent 1/35 scale one. Are you listeneing Tamiya?
Nice looking Crusader Chris. Clean looking build.
Two quick comments - the tracks are riding above the roadwheels and can be glued down to the tops to give them a more accurate look as in the following pic.
Second, you painted the sides of your roadwheels but not the surface.
Both problems are very easily corrected.
Thanks for sharing.
woops. but I did more work on the tracks last night and they are in contact with all the road wheels on both sides. Thanks for tipoff robert
My pleasure Chris … glad I could help.
Looks great, Chris. Built that same kit years and years ago. It was a good kit, as I remember it. Did you enjoy the build?
Nice looking Crusader, Chris. Thanks for posting the pics.
yes I enjoyed it very much. went together with ease.
So what’s next? (at that scale)
Chris:
ur crusader looks great, very clean build from here…
keep on doing the 1/72 !
off-topic, did u ever get a chance 2 check out the stormbirds site 4 ur Me262 report ? there was some pretty decent footage of an r/c model
of the 262 doing a flyby, it looked really cool !
frosty[:)]
no I didn’t. do you have a link? bTW the reports on jet engines.
yeah I’ll keep doing 1/72. don’t worry.
Looks good, Chris! Robert already pointed out the points that may need a little attention, so I’d say you got it!
Tigerman, the Italeri 1/35 Crusaders aren’t so bad! Give 'em a chance!
But yeah, a 1/35 Tamiya, or Dragon, or AFV Club, or Academy Crusader would be nice, to be sure!
Chris:
just edited the “welcome back M1Abrams” thread (which has the stormbirds link in it…) to bring it up 2 where u don’t have 2 hunt it down (altho’ i hear u do enjoy hunting, i think u prefer 2 do urs in the woods !)[;)]
if that link doesn’t work, it’s at www.stormbirds.com
hth,
frosty[:)]
LOL I had to hunt for it. youur link here didn’t work. you had a couple of periods after it. looks like a interseting site. Thanks!!
Chris:
sorry about the link, i didn’t realize that my trail-off periods would become part of the e-address. my mistake… i’m not firing on all cylinders today, still got the flu… [:(]
at least u got there, so u get much respect 4 being a good tracker ! [;)]
ur welcome !
frosty[:)]
hope you feel better soon!
there, I painted the sides of the roadwheels and put dullcoat on it at lunch. I can’t believe how well dullcoat makes decals conform to raised surfaces such as rivets.
She’s a sweet piece, Chris. Keep 'um coming
I don’t have any on the shelf at the moment, but I’m going to the HS this weekend and I’m planning on getting one then. I really enjoy 72 for a nice fun relaxing build. [:)]
