My Gift To Dad Thus Far, A 1/48th Wildcat

Morning all,

This has been a very long project for my Dad… Between long hours at work and our son Aaron who is now 3 mnth old, well building has become a back burner item for some time until now…

This build began on the day my Dad had his open heart surgery and almost 6 mnths later, she is almost finally complete.[:P]

I went straight OOB and she is in the marking of VF-22 off the USS Independence. At the moment my wife has my Digital camera so I used the next best thing, my cell phone… Pix are a little small and may appear fuzzy. I do apologize and once the build is complete, I will snag my Camera from her… Laughs

And yes, my Dad knows that this is a Gift and he absolutely loves it… Matter of fact he hasa couple of projects on the burner as we speak…

Enjoy…

Flaps up,

Mike

Nice work Mike. I’m sure your Dad will be pleased.

Looks great, Mike! I take it this means your father is recovering nicely?

Nice looking build![tup] I’m sure your Dad will love it. Please pass on my wishes to him for a speedy recovery.

little stubby’s lookin good so far mike i always have had a soft spot for wildcats i did a p-51d for my old man afew years back (now he wants my old builds to show of to his friends!) parents always love the things their children make for them (kinda like refrigerator art on steroids!) keep up the good work! dave

Looks good from here, Mike, but be sure to post more pictures when you get your digital camera back. It was a very nice gesture for your father, who I hope is recovering nicely. And yes, parenthood puts a crimp in modeling, but it’s well worth it!

Mark

Do apologize for the long wait for my reply. I was just moved to another port/location so I had to get settled in. However I did nothave to uproot the family… Thats a good thing

Thank you all for your comments and well wishes to my Dad… He is doing excellent and he is starting a quater scale Stuka if I am not mistaken by hasegawa. He wants something done for our up coming IPMS show.

Mark,

Once she is all done I will definitly update w/ new pix and yes, I’ll have my digital cam as well… Laughs

Rick,

Thank you my friend for the kind words

Tango,

Dad is 99.999% back to his old self once again plus our Son is keeping Grandpa on his toes… HEhehehe

P51,

I have always had a thing for the Wildcat… Out of all of the Grumman birds, she sticks out in my book…

I know what you mean about our parents showing off our stuff… Matter of fact just the other day my Mom pulled out my old art work from school and showed it to my wife… O BOY…!!!

Thank again for all your kind words

Flaps up,

Mike
