Good day all;
I haven’t posted in a while. I’ve been very busy with work and home issues.
Here’s one my latest and my favorite modeling subject; airliners. It’s the 1/200 Hasegawa A321 converted to an A319 as there is no A319 in this scale that I know of. I was inspired to do the livery from a flight my sister-in-law took from Denver to DC she made a couple of years ago. The decals are by a company called “Decals de Guido”. They’re very nice. They are available from Airline Hobby Supplies and they are available in 1/200 and 1/144 scale. You can pick the tail animal you want. I chose the wolf because my son loves wolves. I also like the large printed FRONTIER on the sides. The build was not bad. I had to cut the fueselage apart in order to shorten it to the correct size. I added fuselage details like the anntenas with Evergreen styrene. The beacon is a clear sequine painted Tamiya clear red. The large oval shaped fairing was made with Sculpey modeling medium (similar to Milliput). Not all A319’s have it but the Frontier A319’s do based on my reference Airliners.net and Jetphotos.net. I painted the model with Krylon White decanted into my airbrush. The wings are MM Canadian Voodo Grey which is closest to Boeing 707 grey. I used alcad II for the wings and tail leading edges and the engine nacelles. It was only my second modeling conversion and it was a blast. I’d do it again. [4:-)]
I hope you enjoy. Thank you
Neil
