Here’s my first Tiger.
I used a Tamiya 1/35 kit with the rubber band vinyl tracks. Overall I think this was an older kit and the newer Tigers are better. I started to look over a Tiger 1 Late model and it looks like it has better detail overall.
With that said, I made this Tiger to be one of the PzAbt 501 that served in Tunis. The base is similar in construction to the one I made for the BRDM parked in Iraq.
The tank is painted with arylics and enamels.

Looks nice from over here. Suitably dusty looking. Keep up the good work.
I like it. You did a great job on the weathering. Yes, the later Tiger kit is more detailed and comes with seperate track links, which makes a world of difference. Tread on! [:)]
Awesome job Muzzle…
Does the heart good to see a nice Tiger [}:)]
muzzleflash … you’re turning into a regular modelling madman since joining here. You finish entire models faster than I can finish a bogey assembly on a Sherman. LOL
Another fine job but I do have one question. Was this Tiger painted with a black muzzlebreak like what you show in the dio ? I ask because I haven’t seen any pics of Tigers painted that way.
Shermanfreak,
Yes the muzzle is black… a poor job of making it look dirty [B)]
I can touch it up if you give me the right pointers on colors to use. Mostly acrylics on my shelf, some enamels. MANY colors overall.
Thanks for the input again.
The best thing to do is to paint it the same colour as the rest of the Tiger. Then take a pencil and grind the tip on some sandpaper until you have a small pile of lead. Dip your thumb and index finger into the lead, and rub the tip of the gun barrel between your fingers. Repeat until it’s at the level of weathering you want.
A very simple, non-hi-tech, and very cheap weathering technique.
Great Job mate, I just bought my self a Tamiya Tiger 1/35 scale. Looks like the older model cause it was cheaper lol. Now i just have to work out what colour HELP!!
Very well executed. A fine example of the overall grey scheme we don’t see much anymore.
I will try to repost new pics shortly. While trying to correct this Tiger per shermanfreak’s suggestions, I am also trying to finish a Panther and another Tiger with my own zimmer! uh-0h.
lol. more soon.
THANKS to everyone for the kind words on my models

Hey nice job on the Tiger looks great and good luck with the zimmerit
I repainted the muzzle grey and did the pencil lead technique described by Shermanfreak…

above: painted muzzle grey again

New Muzzle with pencil lead

Thanks Shermanfreak for the suggestions
My pleasure Muzzleflash. That really improved the look.
Thanks again for sharing the pics.
Very very nice. I like the backround photo, it adds so much more 2 the feel.
Well done.
Keep well.
Thanks!
Artorius I have posted a few other “scenes” on here in the diorama forum. I like to make a base for my models and use background photos when possible. I use my photo printer if I do not have something on hand. The BRDM in Iraq was printed off a news site, just a typical Iraqi background.
Very nice hopefully mine will look half as good.[:D]
