My First Resin Kit in Years

Awhile back ago, Domi sent me a package of some resin kits that he wouldn’t ever get to, so I could add them to my collection. Here is the first of these kits that I am building:

This is the Staghound armored car and It is going together very well. I had to drill out the extra resin behind the wheels, as well as sand down alot of excess resin on the bottom. My Dremel got a workout that day! I’m pleased with it so far.

Looks good Maddog. Is it 1/72? Resin kinda scares me from all I’ve read on the forum. One the one hand it usually requires alot of sanding and on the other hand your not supposed to sand it because of the dust. What did you do about the dust?

Thanks Mike! Glad you like it so far. I got a bit more work done on it; I’ll post pics when I can.

Actually, I’m not sure. I have to check the packaging. I’m not sure any name was on it. It was a sample given to Domi that he passed on to me.

Thanks Ibeam. Yes, it is 1/72 scale. As for what I did about the dust, well, it wasn’t hard to deal with.

Next to my workbench is the window, and I have a fan in it. I just turned the fan around so it blew out the window instead of in. Then I held the model next to the fan and sanded it down with my Dremel. All the dust was sucked out the window so I didn’t have to deal with it.

What scares me is the white metal. I got some more kits from Domi that have both resin and white metal. Still, they are cool kits and also subjects that I can’t get otherwise, so I will take my best shot at them.
