My First MiG build ICM's 1/48 MiG-3

My very first MiG aircraft, its really a nice looking air frame to my eye.

Allow me to say this ICM kit was both a blast to build and torture at the same time. The reason I say this, the blast part was the detail the kit offered, the torture side was this is NOT a kit for the meek. I consider myself an intermediate modeler and this kit, I think, needs advanced skill levels. I couldn’t build it as I wanted because of some small mistakes I made that snowballed and wouldn’t allow me to build it with an open engine cowl. The good thing is I know what I did wrong and I have 2 more of this kit on the shelf and will build it again much better this time. Anyway I am happy with the way the model turned out, and the things I learned with it along the way. So with out further ado here are the pictures.

You are right - an excellent kit that is also fiddly and demanding.

Nevertheless, its the best MiG-3 in the scale.

Always liked the MiG-3, best looking of the WWII Russian planes IMHO. Well done Randy, it looks very good indeed!

The only thing I can see that could be improved, would be the inside edge of the canopy. Tis a bit nekid.

Daywalker and Fermis thank you for your kind words gentelman. I will be doing another next year in hopes it will be even better than this one.

Fermis I can and will fix that nekid canopy frame thanks for pointing that out to me.
