My first Luftwaffe-46 subject...next pics

A couple of days ago, when I was (trying) to clean-out my attic I found a forgotten kit ; the Blohm&Voss P-194.
As I knew that there is a prototype- and paper airplane GB going on, I decided to particiapate and began construction the day befor yesterday.

This is my progress so far…

This kit is the Revell 1/72, normally a scale that is not my cup of tea, but while working on this little bird I discovered that I like this subject very much and I’m thinking of starting a collection of them.[:)]

Toughest aspect of that kit is probably the canopy being to thick with poor fit. Give it some Future and some effort and you’ll have an intersting subject. Already looking good.

I just did my first Luft '46 and liked it too. I really liked the kit, also a Revell Germany. It had better detail than some Taymiagwa kits I have built.

Lookin’ good Dany!

Not much to that kit, 'eh? How’s it going together? 72’s aren’t my thing either, but I’ve been considering building 'em as slammers so I can start a collection of all the aircraft from WWII; real, paper and imagined! LOL

Fade to Black…

Looks gret Dan, I love those experimental Luftwaffe projects. Make sure you post some pics when you are done.

Looks like a good start. Looking forward to the final act. Thanks for sharing.

Regards, Rick

Looks great so far Dan. Welcome to the world of Luft '46.

I love these projects and have a BV 141 (not really '46) and a BV P212 in progress. I think 1/72 is a great scale for a collection and that’s about all I model in these days.

Keep the pics coming. Can’t wait to see the upper camo scheme.

Neat looking bird, I have the BV 141 but I have not started it because I just look at that green house and my neck starts to get sore from all the masking that has to be done.

Thad

looking like its gonna be a very special bird on your display case ! aint that many a/c with that kind of configuration around !

its one of those things that thye never thought of - how modellers are going to replicate it. another 2 things come to mind - the bundeswehr tank uniforms - look like a bear to paint and the digital camoflage.

Dan, that looks like it’s coming along nicely.

I can’t wait to see the finished article.

Karl

Looks great! [:)]

New Update :

I had a bad masking-day today.
The splinter-scheme got on fine, till I discovered that my soft-masking wasn’t as well executed as desired. So after removing all masks, I got a nasty surprise.
Anyway, I didn’t feel like starting all over again on the masking, so I tried to put things (more or less) right by tapping on the transition-line with a paintbrush.

These pictures are the result of today’s “work” :

Can’t tell much from the pics, but looks like you’re moving along.

Regards, Rick

the splinter scheme looks good. whatever you did to fix it seems to have worked.

It looks great Dan. I like the camo. Very accurate.

As for your masking problems, you don’t know how many times I have sanded, re-masked and resprayed color demarcation lines!

Remember, when these A/C were manufactured (other than perhaps, the prototype) they had their own inherent production flaws, which would actually make yours even more accurate!

Good work. Thanks for the pics, and be sure to show us the finished model.

And here’s the next one…

Looking good there Dan.

Looking forward to the finished build.

I love 1/72 kits that revell of germany makes. they are often extremely good, and they look really nice once finished and painted and everything. Looking great so far. I hate glosscoating models before decalling. I do it, of course, but while the models still glossy, it makes me not like it for some reason. tooo shiny. that’s not commenting on your wonderful kit of course, dancooper.

Here is the (almost) finished bird. But, one terrible thing though ; I lost the spinner, so I will have to see what I can do about that …

thats looking great. the choice of subject is excellent. [:)]
