looks good welcome to the wonderful world of dio’s [tup]

Welcome Drkabuto,
Your dio looks very good, although I have done a few modern pieces in the past Im afraid I havent kept up on the Modern Military end of modeling, but you seem to have it together here, your focus is good. Keep em coming!

Very Nice

Welcome and Merry Xmas!

Nice modern dio, what does this depict? combat, training? Your pic posting is definitely unique, I’ve never seen this format in the forum’s before. I would suggest a few overall shots so we can get the feel of your entire dio, this way it’s kind of fragmented and we can’t see the whole enchilada!.
Just a few tips from an old soldier-to add to the realism of the piece, I would definitely put some ammo in the door gunners M60, unless this is just a training hop. Additionally, I’m not sure there would be room in the Huey for an unfolded litter, the medic seems to be managing this stretcher with one arm. Litters were choppered in on the dusters for evacuation of wounded, the medic in an infantry squad would not deploy in a drop zone with a litter.

Your attention to detail on the individual grunts is exceptional. The web gear is really cool, with those frags, and flashlights in the right place. I think your grunts should be in camo bdu’s,boot color should be black, unless in desert issue camis.

Good job on dio #1, there are o alot of experienced builders in the forums, take advantage of all the techniques that they share with you, you can’t get these tips anywhere else.

Steve

Thx you all for comments, they will be useful for future dios.
I must say I did not plan this dio, I improvised it without getting further info, just built the kit and figures oob.
That’s why boots are not black, there’s no ammo in M-60, etc.
I am learning a lot in this forum, next dio will be much more accurate and realistic, I promise!
P.D. Pics of entire dio ASAP

Very nicely done. I do like the attention to detail that is evident in the figures.
