my first completed model posted ever? Sturer Emil 1/35 *pics*

I think this is my first completed model I have ever posted? Just never been satisfied with anything that I have completed. I dont really care about accuracy or anything, I just build for the fun of it.

The kit was nice, except for the tracks. They are much too short to fit on the wheels.

Well, here we go…

Ron, glad you could share with us. I like it. Too bad about the tracks, but I think you pulled it off. I can’t tell if you painted the tires on the wheels, because I think they had them, but am unsure. Good job and hope to see some more.

Nice build,

Ditto about the wheels though.

BTW, what is the story on this vehicle? How many were produced? what chassis does it use, I don’t recognize it.

Well what a coincedence, I also almost done my Sturer 1/35, it was my brother but ne’s not in models as me. Very nice model, looking foward to other projects of yours.

Ron,

That’s very nice build.

Thanks guys.

Its a very interesting vehicle. There were only 2 ever produced. One of them is in a museum and the other was destroyed in combat.

Yeah, I painted the road wheels using the template method. They are a little covered by the misting of flat earth.

I like the subtle weathering, the tools are great, great job on the tracks… very nice job on a different type of model, cheers!

Ron

A nice looking stubborn Emil.

Apparently the surviving Emil racked up quite a score before being captured outside Stalingrad.

I had the same problem with my 1:72 Emil’s road wheels. The grimey black I normally use was only a shade different to the panzer grey. The distinction is there but the photo’s make it difficult to see without looking a bit harder.

I hope that info helped you out. Did you get the other PDF?

Cheers

Mike

[tup]good looking emil ron.the the track length problem you mentioned iencountered myself.a quick dip in some hot tap water,a little stretch,i fastened the ends together.now having been a year since building i noticed that the superglue is slipping.back to your dilemna, after the glue had a chance to set,i just slowly worked the track into position. it really didnt seem to be overly tight.
i know many builders like to have a certain amount of slack or sag.if my memory is correct track using return rollers is maintained snug.i could be wrong, its been over twenty years since maintaining track tension has been a ritual. its to bad only two of these type weapons were built.imagine divisions equipped with vehicles like the emil, dicker max and such.just faster, airmobile.one can shudder just to think about it.you should really post more of your work.one build just does’nt do anyones build style justice.
