My first bipe in a long, long time

This is a 1/48 Eduard Limited Edition Nieuport 17 in Bolshevik markings. It’s painted in my own version of silbergrau made from MM acrylic aluminum mixed with about 30 percent FS 36440 gray. Let’s hope this works:

Those marking are one of four choices in the kit, and they were all big, colorful personal markings. It was a tough decision because they were all good. Unfortunately, that’s not the photo I wanted to show. It turns out that all my good photos of this build are TIF files, and I can’t use them in Photobucket. This was the only PDF I had, so I can’t show you the sharper, closer photos or a front view. I still haven’t figured this thing out, and my own personal photographer/webmaster is laid up. (“Own/personal” being a eupemism for “I’m too technology dumb to do it myself.”) When I get him back, I’ll try this again. But thanks for all the nice words.

I like the markings, especially the bat. Can’t tell you haven’t built a bipe for a while. The alignment and rigging look good.

Very nice. There is a ton of variety to the schemes the WWI birds wore. They make for really interesting subjects. This one is a real gem.
