I signed up with both Photobucket and Shutterfly, deposited three pics there. Then using the copy and paste technique that I believed to be pertinent to the respective sites, pasted what I hoped to be the pic. What I see pasted here is a link, and not the picture. Going to submit this and see what happens.
Did you use the rich formatting link next to the reply button.
I don’t think that’s it Bish, the link needs to be bracketed with [img]
I know on photobucket on each picture there is a box that says get links, when you hit it and copy the image link you get just what you need to paste in your post

I added {img} to the beginning of your code, then {/img} to the end of your code. Use the square brackets around the IMG

It ain’t worth the trouble. Photobucket stinks, IMHO.
Maybe I’ve just been lucky, but I’ve never had any problems with Photobucket. My account must be close to 10 years old and I’ve posted hundreds of pictures in a variety of forums and message boards and just can’t really recall a single issue getting it to “work” right. It must be just a tiny detail chuck that’s stopping the show. Don’t give up![:D]

I’ll give it a shot, at least I’ll explain how I do it. First, start an account at a photo-hosting site; I use Photobucket. Then, upload your pics that you’ve saved to your computer. After they are uploaded, you’ll see the thumbnail pics.
Move your cursor over the pic and you’ll see a little gear symbol in the upper-right corner. A drop down menu appears and you choose “get links”. Another window will open with several choices for you. You want to click on the one that says “IMG codes”. Once you do, it will show “copied”. Now, go to the post that you’ve started here and simply “paste” the code. You can check the post with the “Preview Post” feature and your pic should show there, as it will when you post your comments with Submit Reply.

Thanks guys for all the help. I utilized all the tips you guys gave, including the “links” aspect in Photobucket, the “rich formatting” choice, the example of the first pic which hogfanfs posted, the advice not to give up, and the instructions from Gary and others, and it worked. I appreciate it.
The simple diorama, “The Arms Dealer and Futon Seller” is from Tamiya’s German Infantry Weapons Set, 1/24th scale. The futon was made from leftover cloth when my mom used to sew, and the frame is from a Home Depot plank.
Again, thanks for the help, it is really appreciated. And thanks for checking out the dio. Wait a minute. Did they have futons in the arms underground?
