My first 109 is done!!!

Here is some pics of my first attempt at a Me-109. Done in Africa camo, it’s probably not 100% accurate, but it’s close enough for me. It is the Tamiya 1/48 109-E3 kit built OOB. Paints are Gunze and Tamiya, and the decals are pretty much the kit ones (Except the ‘3’ decals which are for a USN Hellcat).

Thad Yeah, the camo was freehand. It’s not the cleanest job ever, but it’s one of my first goes, so I’m happy with it.

I’m sure I’ll end up building another 109 one day. I don’t have one in my stash at the moment, but I might get the urge to buy another one some day.

Nice job on the 109…

If you’re gonna build any in the future you might want to pick up Finescale’s warbird modeling Battle of britain for references and check on albatros for decals of the 109…You can also try Hasegawa’s kits which are very nice and some come with PE parts…

Very nice paint job, every time I think about doing a camo like that I break into a cold sweat and opt for something simpler…

Seriously, that’s a fine job on that 109… The Spinach camo pattern is one of the more interesting in my opinion… I’d give you 2 thumbs up…
