My first 1/24 scale diorama

This is my first and only 1/24 diorama I’ve attempted to date since returning to the hobby. It’s the old “Sneeky Pete”/“Alley Rat” kit and I tried for the post-apocolyptic thing. [:)] Let me know what you think. Thank you.

Techniques/tricks I used were -

  • to attach the license plate to aluminum foil to bend it etc.
  • Used rock salt for the shattered window effect
  • coffee grounds for the ashpalt road
  • Pantene hairspray that had a reaction with the acrylic paint to give the white “road salt” effect
  • I also used a two-part antiquing kit from the craft store for the rust.
  • Plenty of earth-tone pastels

very realistic dio, you made a very good job of making the truck old and knackered [bow]

An excellent dio…very cool…

Nice work. All you need now is a man and a kid pushing a trolley past it and it could be a scene from Cormac McCarthy’s “The Road”.

love the old asphalt too!

Thank you for the kind comments guys. Given the quality and level of builders around here, it is very much appreciated. [:)]

you rock, love the peterbilt hood .
