This is the ICM packaged box of the Ural 4320 truck with the BS-100 field gun. THe truck is an ex-OmegaK moulding, an is not the greatest of kits. Certain parts fit extremely well, while others leave a lot to be desired. Suffice it to say, half-way through this build, I got VERY discouraged, and pretty much rushed as fast as possible to the finish line so I wouldn’t have to deal with it.
The basecoat is MM Acryl dark green, with all subsequent painting done in Tamiya and Warhammer acrylics. Weathering was achieved through a series of thin washes and pastels.
Looks great, even if you did rush to get it to the finish. The faded paint job is excellent- gives the truck a nice worn look. The canvas cover looks real nice too- was that scratch?
Thanks for the kind words everyone. In case you haven’t noticed, I like my vehicles as dirty as they get. It gets difficult to keep it within reason sometimes, and this time, I’m afraid I just used it to mask my sloppy work.
Jason, yeah, the canvas and supporting rails are not included with the kit. I made them out of cleaned up sprue runs and tissue.
Very cool Zokissima. I like the gun too. Almost got for another G.B. It was hard to find. Anyway, the canvas top is awesome and the weathering is quite complimentary.
Nice work! The truck looks like it’s done some haulin and the towed gun looks like it’s done some shellin (hey I made a rhyme). Forgive my ignorance, what era, conflict is it from?
Thanks for the compliments guys. I deleted some pics off the account, and I can see the pics now.
I-beam: The truck is a fairly modern Soviet era offering, and many are still in service today, including quite a few in the civilian sector. The gun is an ‘ancient’ WWII Russian offering, but was built so sturdily and easily maintainable, that many were in service up into this era.
