I finally finished my 234/3 Armored Car and it is by far my best model. I know the decal is shiny, I tried the flat spray, but it didnt really work out. Any comments appreciated.
scer16,
Looks good to me. I have been looking for this kit. May I ask where you got it?? I really want it as I have the 234/1 and 234/2. Keep up the good work. Let me know.

Looks good. What did you use for the folage? Nice touch.
Nice job!
[:D] looks great,is that the puma?,from italeri.? no matter it looks great.[:D]
smokin: my brother got it for me for Christmas, I’ll ask him for ya. I have the 234/2 and the 234/4, looking for the 234/1.
matthew: the foliage is some twine I had, sprayed it a wood color, then sprayed glue on it and shaked some oregano on top of that.
thanks for the comments guys
I entered it in the Juniors comp today, got first in category, only entry though.
Heres another pic to show the camo
To get rid of the shine under the decals try painting a little future floor polish where the decals will go. Let it dry for two days before you apply decals. Then you can spray some dull coat over the whole thing, after decalling.
I envy you your junior status. I was in my late 30’s when I began. You have a lifetime of discovery waiting. Have fun!
scer16,
Go to www.hobbylinc.com. Look under Italeri. The 234/1 is there. That one I have. You can also try www.squadron.com or www.greatmodels.com They all have the 234/1. I didnt even know they made a 234/4. Can you email me a photo of the box by chance?? I would really appreciate it. Thanks.

scer16,
Looks good and congratulations on your first place.
Where did you get your idea for the camoflage? Never seen that scheme before. Looks good.
One thing, I think you need more weathering behind the wheels and in the turret. They are too clean for the rest of the vehicle.
From the looks of this one, I’m sure you’re well on your way to many good builds.
Joe
I thought I did the wheels enough, but I only did one of the colors. I guess thats what you get for doing it one hour before the competition starts. I got the idea for the camo after seeing it on a 234/2 or 234/1 in a book called Camouflage from D-Day to Berlin. (or something like that)
I asked my brother where he got it, he said he doesnt remember, but it was either Hobbytown or the LHS, but most likely hobbytown.
smokin: here it is: (I got it for 16$ at the show today, I plan to do the whole 234 group)
scer16,
Thanks for the info. I also plan to do the whole series if I can ever get a hold of the others. Thanks again.

I’ll try to find the 234/3 and the 234/4 online for you. Got to help another 234 lover
If you do, I owe you!!! Hee hee. Thanks man. Very kind of you. Let me know. Feel free to contact me via email as well.

Looks great!!!
I’m glad your models keep getting better each time, that’s a good sign that you are doing a lot of things right!!! It is a good thing to be able to learn from your work and make improvements on it.
What are you building next? [:)]
Actually I’m building a 234/2 (Puma) right now. Isnt that funny
Thanks for the compliments guys
Fine work!
I like the interesting camo.
I like the camo job. Did you hand paint it? Nice weathering overall, but I agree the inside and wheel well area needs more dirt. Otherwise, fine build you have there.
No I didnt hand paint it, I masked the green with about 2 eggs of silly putty
thanks
smokin, I have an idea. We should do a 234 GB. It would be nice because its a limited range so we can answer questions about the models.
Tigermodels does a great set of resin wheels for these, and they look great. I’m currently working on the 234/1 with PE and resin. For some reason these are a great departure from tanks. I have the 234/2 and the 234/3 waitng in the wings.
