Tankbuild121,

From what I can see, it looks great. Wish I could do something like that. Keep up the good work. BTW what kit is it??

Smokinprice

looking good!

really nice work tankbuild121! [tup][wow] is that tamiya’s? if so any prob’s with it i should know?

Thanks guys. Hey smokinprice, I have been building models for 3 years now. One thing I have notcied that if you tell yourself that you are going to do a good job, then the end product reflects it. Make goals for yourself; when i say that, I mean realistic goals. Also, just practice.
yes this is tamiya’s 1/35 scale kit. No real problems. NOTE: some people say that the hood is two short, but others don’t. I didn’t experience it, but others have. i think it depends on the sequence of the build, or even the molding date. also, you have to watch out for all the flimsey du-dads like width indicators and bed bars (the bars that go over the bed and hold the tarp. Another thing is that the wheels are easy to mix up. Remember, it is a huge thing, about a foot long! Sevarl coats of lightened dark yellow, and lots of washes, dry brushing, and scratches. The vehicle represents one from the 5th SS Division (Wiking) in Russia. I am building a Panther A that served with Wiking and will incorporate it into a reloading/refueling diorama. I’ll keep you all posted. if i’m lucky, you’ll will see this at nationals!

It’s really coming along great. How did you do the paint chips? They look very well done.

im liking it alot tankbuild, looks like it had the stuffins beat out of it from all the road wear, great job so far and keep it up

Hey Kris,

That chipping looks really good, very realistic, I hope to see the finished product soon.

Steve

Thanks guys. The paint chips are what I focused on truely for this build. I used modelmaster rlm 72 grun with a 10/0 brush. I bought the nuts and bolts set for it and the book has allot of nice pics of beat up famo’s.
