My Big Bad Buff!!

This is the old Monogram 1/72 B-52. First time in doing a Vietnam era camo scheme. The bottom black was applied straight from the can of Imron satin black automotive paint. A friend of mne who served with this type a/c said that it was “dead on!”

The decals did silver a bit and just couldn’t quite get it out, but otherwise I’m pleased.

Thanks for lookin’, comments welcome!

This is an excellent job of masking and painting. It must have been very difficult on a model of this size. You should be very proud of this model.

Looks great. I could never do a model like that. I have no place to put it. That this is so friggin HUGE!

Very Nice Skip! [#ditto]…great paint! And that thing does look BIG!

Really nice build. The SEA camo came out very well. Other than the silvering on the USAF decal, a really great looking model.

Regards, Rick

Great work! Thanks for posting your photos.

How did the build go for you? Were there any really odd or troublesome spots?

Regards,

Thats great, thanks for posting. You could do the decals over again, I might have some spares if you want send me a pm.

What about the wingtip bogey wheels?

Very nice work, I especially like your SEA camo. Did you freehand it? It does look spot on to my eyes! Thanks for sharing!

Excellent work on the BUFF. One of the better ones that I have seen.

Nice one, Skipper. You’ve really captured a menacing look with this one…the flat finish looks great. [tup][tup]

Wonderful job! The camo looks great on it… she sure is a big sucker. Great to see someone build a Monogram kit too!

I had this model as a kid. My grandpa took me to the hobby shop on my birthday, and I picked out the B-52 because it was by far the biggest box on the shelf. [:D] Slapped some green paint on it, and played with it until it fell apart… which didn’t take very long, Operation Dive Bomb Mom While She’s Making Dinner was a pretty brutal campaign… not the sort of mission that the B-52 is particularly well-suited for. It’s great to see one as it was intended to look!

[#ditto] Excellent work on this one! [tup]

very niec build, what a mosnter! can you add some solvaset or other “harsh” decal solvent to “unsilver” the decals? job well done!

Oh! Diggin’ on your eight engined ‘tall-tail’.
