My B-17 is finally finished (almost)!

Here’s my Monogram 1:48 B-17G, done up with Eagle strike’s “Achtung Vermots-Attention Bombers! part II” decals for “Man 'O War II- Horsepower, ltd.”

It includes scratchbuilt detail added to almost all of the interior. Other than that, it’s OOB. I will be adding some exterior detail, weathering, etc shortly.

I remember building that kit years ago. It was a blast.

You’ve done a great job on it- that’s how I wanted mine to look back in '79 or '80 when I did it. [;)]

Nice work Jaypack! I love the B-17, hope to build one of my own in 1/48 someday.

I scratched most of the cockpit detail, except for the (heavily modified) seats and instrument panel, as well as some of the radios (the rest came from a monogram 1:48 B-29), a lot of minor details (oxygen regulators, etc.), and most of the detailing in the nose area, using a mixture of evergreen styrene, wire, stretched sprue, and acetate from a blister pckage of lightbulbs.

I’m planning on putting it into a diorama. Not exactly sure where I’ll put it though…

Very nice. I am currently working on the same kit but I’m still debating between scratchbuilding the interior detail, buying the detail sets for all the compartments or a little of both. Please post more pics as they are very helpful, and keep up the good work [^]
