I’m still perfecting my technique and this gallery has only two subjects but what the hey.
“Hellcats and high seas.”
“Onslaught” B17 Fs from the 305th BG. I’m planning a painting of a Bf 110 night fighter with searchlight beams in background, want to call it “Against bomber command”. But these days I find very little time to break out the easel. So hope you like them.
Very nice, I like the detail.
Nice work!
Your artwork Sir, belongs on display inside a museum! Very well done work- My favorite being the Fortresses. It’s from a point of view I don’t see a whole lot of in other pieces of artwork
Very cool rabbit. I envy your talent.
I love aircraft paintings and have two prints on display in my office.
You should display your work in a museum.

Great work, Rabbit [tup]
Wish I could paint…

They look great, especially the B-17. I always wanted to give this a try and your efforts are sure an inspiration. What medium did you use?
Stunning work Rabbit! You obviously have quite the artistic streak in you. [:)]
rabbiteatsnake, you do some very fine work [:)] thanks for sharing !
First I’d like to thank you all for some very kind words, though not sure I deserve them, I’m blushing right now.[:I] Anyway to answer the question, the B17s are oil on linen.* and the hellcat is oil on masonite. Somebody said they liked the veiws, well one of my inspirations came from Robert Linewoods (I think thats correct.)box art for REVELL, who stretched and twisted the perportions and set AC in most dramatic perspectives.(No surprise.)
* I like most who think they’ll become "ARTISTES"start painting on stertched canvas or linen. but if you go to a museum many of the great paintings you see are on panel, wood, masonite etc. The texture of canvas is too much for fine detail in smaller panels, also its costly. I much prefer a hunk of masonite with “KILZ” for a primer easy to get, cheap and simple to paint on. So give it a try and good luck. P.S don’t forget to post em here for us to look at.
Rabbit you’re good. You have a talent that I wish I had 10% of.
Fantastic. If I could paint like that I would give up my day job. Well, actually, I’m retired, but you get the point.
Those are great! Your use of color is spot-on. Keep it up!
Very, very nice work! Thank you for sharing your paintings.
How do you get the position and perspective of the planes looking so good? Whenever I try to draw an airplane, something always ends up out of proportion or not in the right place!
Regards,
Excellent art work [tup]. You are very talented.
