1/48 scale PB4Y-2 Privateer
I’ve been wishing for that for a long time,also a 1/48 RF-8G Crusader.
F-106b
TF-102
HU-16 Albatross (new)
H-43 Huskie/Pedro (new)
Airtruk
I’d like a decent 1/72 scale B-32 Dominator.
Y1-B-17.
Boeing B-9.
Douglas B-7 (though there was a excellent vac kit many years ago).
Ditto on the yb17 and would like a xp38.
1/48 B-32 Dominator
Regarding the Hu-16, Trumpeter did one recently In 1/48.
1/48 F2H Banshee
I’d like to see these kits in 1/72 scale: Boeing Model 299 (Flying Fortress prototype), YB or Y1B-17 Flying Fortress, B-32 Dominator, and XB or YB-52 Stratofortress.
I’d like to see these kits in 1/48 scale: Boeing Model 299, B-17B, B-17C/D.
Rareplanes did a vac kit of the Y1B-17 many years ago, which I converted to the 299 for a museum. It wasn’t too tough of a job, and there is an excellent resource in the Detail & Scale book on the Fortress. Lots of good close-up photos to work from.
Lone-Star models makes a YB-52 conversion kit. https://www.scalemates.com/kits/225589-lone-star-models-lsm70354-xb-52-yb-52-conversion
Here’s a kit to make the XB-36. Only two hundred bucks! http://www.click2detail.com/store/p18/1%3A72_XB-36_Conversion_Set_(Early%2C_With_110-Inch_Main_Tires).html
Very cool, Sailor Steve!!! Thanks for the reply! I found some decals a
while back for a Y1B-17 in 1/72 and assumed from that that someone had made a kit or conversion at some time.
That YB-52 conversion looks pretty awesome. I went to the Lone Star Models
website and the price is reasonable. Interestingly they also had a
replacement engine kit for the AMT 1/72 scale B-52H that look pretty
good and is affordable. Guess I’m going to dig a little deeper into my already stretched modeling funds and order both.
The B-36 conversion looks great, too, but is a bit out of my price range.
There are resin or vac kits for every single one of those, if you’re willing to learn new techniques. I doubt anyone will be willing to spend the money to make most of them. The YB-40 should be a fairly straightforward conversion.
“Whatever it is” looks like the Curtiss XP-37.
I would also like to see injection molded kits of some other favorites, including North American’s B-45 Tornado (or did someone already mention that one). Also the XF-107.
There is a 1/48 resin YP-37 kit at LF Models.com.I don’t know how to do links.
For years I’m yelling for a brand new 1/48 Curtiss P-36/H75 Hawk!
We have a lot of P-40s, Bf-109s, Spitfires, and the plane which is quite nice looking, with a great history and many different versions with different engines, retractable and permanent “spats” landing gear, used by nearly every air force still hasn’t a good representation in this very popular scale. Isn’t it a shame for model manufacturers?
I wish someone other than Glenco would produce an old B-10 bomber. I love this era of aircraft.
Of course if Tamiya or Trumpeter did it, I couldn’t afford it anyway LOL.
kits I’d like to see: (all in 1/72)
- Rockwell A-5B (could also be built as RA-5C)
- McDonnel FH “Phantom” (original Phantom)
- Sukhoi Su-17/20/22 with FAB-1000 bombs.
- Tupelev Tu-22 “Blinder” with FAB-9000 bomb. optional Iraqi markings.
1/48 Il-28 Beagle
De’ogostino Millineum Falcon
Toshi
I’d like to see a B-32 in 1/48th [:D]
My other aircraft wish kits are a C-46, a Fieseler Fi-167, and a B-18, all in 1/48th. I do have a project in the queue to scratch-build the Fi-167, though, but if someone brought it on the market, I’d save myself the effort.
Best regards,
Brad
I would really like a 1/48th scale P-47B Tim
