my airbrush is spitting help please

i have a badger crescendo 175t . I just cleaned it after painting. i have always done the smae thing disassemble clean all the parts put it back together and have no problems with the flow. i just put her back together and began to paint . no fine spray this time . it goes good for a few seconds and the spits the paint out stops fine then spits. there is no paint build up on the needle and the feed is clean can anyone help me solve this problem. thank you in advance .

hi kenny I might have the answer for you do you have a regulater because it might be water in the system or the pressure might be to low i had the same problem a while back i hopeit helps it did for me just check if it isworking properly

thanks gemini no i dont have a regulator i will have to put one on and a water trap too could definately be the problem

but what i was spraying is a WWII German helmet i found and i am trying to refurbish

I had the same problem a little while ago, though mine was fixed by stripping the AB and and letting it soak in rubbing alcohol for the night (I am using acrylics)

The cause could also be low air pressure . But i read that you dont have a regulator . How do you control the air pressure ?

shellback i dont control it all what ever psi she is pumping out works fine with me never had a problem with it. but now i think i will invest in a regualator and a water trap and suggestions where i can get these products ?

well the regualator and a water trap are important because high psi can damage your airbrush and your air flow is uncontrolable and unsteady leaving the paint finish uneven so plz get one it is well worth the moola and u can get them at most model shops but i find they cheaper at hardware stores so shop around for the best buy
