My 2008 review... **Picture heavy!**

I will start first by saying that it is this year I started seriously modelling… Not childish modelling, if you know what I mean… build, mock on some paint and play with it until it ruins… I did slightly start seriously modelling a little before 2008, but this was very minor…

So, I’m shortly 17, 31st of January… and would share my builds this year… Atleast those I can find pictures of… And I’ll try my best to show them in the right order.

This is what it started with after Christmas, 2007, and a little walk to the LHS.

This is the StuG I started on, and have yet to finish it… I have repainted it twice, it’s now getting German Grey…

And what turned out to be my first finished build, the Tamiya 1/48 Krupp Protze.

The finished pictures of that will come a bit later… So I did the StuG commander and think he turned out great!

And I did some of the 1/48 figures… Assembled them only tough…

I got more pictures of them…

Then I repainted the muzzle of a 1/35 tiger I had… It was my first build after reference, and I have a WWII footage of a Tiger muzzle painted the same way.

And there, finally… after 15 days, the Krupp Protze was done.

The wheels were touched up just after though.

The Panther came along quite nicely, with a Beetle as well… Both Tamiya 1/48.

The beetle was finished as well.

Then my first try at a diorama… I have to redo this one, as I’ve done several basic diorama faults [B)]

More pictures of that as we move on…

Then I got my airbrush, and after a single test on a cardboard piece, I went onto my Panther…

And it turned out great!

And then it came, one of my best models ever. The Tamiya 1/35 Land Rover Pink Panther, OOB, no airbrush.

A WIP of that can be found on these forums. (Picture unedited)

Also did it on a Warhammer 40.000 tank:

And some smaller changes on the diorama again, also painted the men.

And a German tanker, 1/48 that I added some straps and a camera on…

Airbrushed yet another Warhammer 40.000 tank:

And airbrushed a Panzer IV which I haven’t done yet:

The Panther got eventually done:

The tracks have been touched up later on, with a darker metal colour.

Yet another diorama I tried on, which was awsome in my opinion, and was to depict three Germans walking without worries over the bridge, and two US Soldiers awaiting them just behind the wall.

Unfortunatly, it got ruined because the water I added did NOT come out good and it was unfixable [BH]

Yet another idea, but never put into life:

My first real try at a figure:

And another one, which is now completed and picture to come.

I joined my first GB, the Junior GB. I built my first plane and was rather happy with it.

I went onto my first Dragon armour, and bought this specificaly as an introduction to DML armour. Was also my first PE fret!

I’m still working on it at the moment

My second try at a plane, a Zvezda IL2. Still not done and stopped after the last picture you see of it…

Alot of scratchbuilt things in this cockpit!

A new diorama plate in 1/48 where I am to add 3 British soldiers. One is currently done:

And then a Dragon 1/144 Panzer 38(t), my first try with PE…

Some may remember it off this one:

And the latest picture I have off it:

My first try with oils, on an awfully old Churchill Tamiya 1/35 kit:

And then the British 1/48 soldier who goes onto the diorama I talked about a few pictures ago…

And then I had to take a logo picture for my Easy & Grett Tabletop serie on Youtube… Go ahead, search for it

And then a Revell 1/76 Churchill A.V.R.E with bridge… it’s still not done…

Then I got my Vallejo 8x skin tone paint set. And my first try with it was a 1/35 Tamiya tanker half figure which I made more or less into a bust…

And then I completed that SS soldier you saw a bit earlier on…

Then I started on one of the other SS folks.

I still have to touch up the face…

Then the last one for the year, a Italeri 1/72 Stuka D-5… A real ostfront veteran this one! A WIP can be found in the Aircraft forum. The plane is as good as done, but still have a little more to do.

That’s all I can find… I think it’s more though… But hope you all enojyed it!! [:D]

Coming along very nicely Huxy! Your progress and improvement in your skills is showing! Keep 'em coming! My personal favorites are the Land Rover and the Brit figures!

Very nice work Huxy! Its really cool to see your modeling progression through all the photos! You’ve been a very busy builder! I’m envious! lol!

The ones that stand out to me are your Land Rover (very nice!), Panther, F4 Wildcat, and that itsy bitsy Pz.38(t)! Nice figure work too! BTW I saw your youtube videos on the Dragon Pz I Ausf A!! Now I’m eager to start mine for the Norway WWII GB!

Happy modeling in 2009!

I’ve really never built any armor (always an aircraft guy) but those are certainly some fine builds there! Kinda wondering now if I should give tracks a try at some point (but don’t tell the rest of the aircraft guys though-they throw rocks![;)])

Stikpusher: Thanks for the kind comment! [:)] And yeah, they are some of my favorites as well!

Bufflehead: Thanks! Ya, it’s kind of fun to see the skills improving, and at points going down again [(-D] And for the itsy bitzy panzer, think I may need to repaint it… Oh, you see that little box on the side below the turret with all the holes? That’s PE… imagine the size of it… I made a preview of the kit on my YouTube channel… If interested [:-^]

And busy builder for sure… And your Panzer I, can’t wait to see yours! Quickly, start it! Happy modelling 2009 to you too!

Desertrat: Thanks for the comment! Be aware, at once you start armor, you’ll never stop! [:)] If you start, please let me know! [:D] Would love to see it. And won’t tell the AC guys… I know how hard those rocks can be [B)]

Wow, great output! I think you can see how you’re progressing, as you go from one picture to the next.

Keep it up for 2009!

Regards,

Brad

Wow! you are a machine! That is just awesome that onece you start a build, you actually finish it! (me, no no no, I dont have that problem…[:-^]) LEt’s see if '09 can possibly get even better!

How?!?!? After all, it IS armor![:P]

Not to worry, I’ll likely show up in the armor section wearing an overcoat, fake beard and mustache[;)]

Seriously, I’ve wanted to get my hands on that Tamiya M1A1 in 1/35 scale and give it a go. I’m wondering how different and what all I could get away with doing treads for a change. But as it stands now, I’ve not added it to the stash yet. But I have had a few armor buddies overseas. And I thought that it might be kinda appropriate as a kind of tribute to those pals (even if they never did walk anywhere)[;)]
