Here’s one I built using the amt 69 mach 1 kit I had to fill in the hole in the hood and the scoop in the quarters. Paint looks darker in person.
mkhoot,
Thanks that was the kit that i was looking at .
Cheers Trev
Looks good, I’m also looking for the kit to do the same thing.
Hey Trev,
Would you be looking for one to do a certain Coke or Brut Mustang driven by a bespectaled Aussie Canadian?
nicholma,
You would be right on the money with that one. Did you get the decals to replicate the moffat Mustsang as well? I made the same post on the scale auto sit and was surggested to use the 70 REVELLE BOS 302 FOR THE ENGINE. THEN YOU WILL NEED THE 69 MACH 1 MUSTANG. Thought this may be useful to you.

But the 70 Boss is 1/24 scale. The 69 is 1/25. Not much a difference I know but for engines it’s very noticable. I would use the 289 in the 67 AMT GT and make needed changes which are minor.
Yes Trev I got the Roodecal set that has Moffat’s Coke Mustang and also Bob Jane’s Camaro so I’ll do both eventually. I can remember Moffat bringing the Mustang and Falcon GTHO to the Wigram Tasman Cup serious round about 1974. He won in the 'Stang but the Phase 3 was blitched by the NZ E49’s and Wigram was a power track.
I’ll do a curb sider so the engine won’t be an issue. Thanks Butchy for the info.
Trev what rims and tyres will you use? Mkhoot what rims and tyres did you use for your TransAm?
nicholma,
I was also gtoing to do the Bob jane camaro on the sheet and probably the peter Manton mini as well. Do you know what camaro it is the decals are for from what ifound in an old bathurst magazine i think i was a 7 liter beast. About the wheels on the moffat Trans Am, I can’t rember what the were but i have the infomation some where i think and i will try to get back to you as soon as i can.
Cheers Trev

I have both kits and whatever scale they are, they’re the same thing and have many parts in common.
nicholma,
The wheels on the 69 moffat mustang are minilite. They are the same style as those that were on the peter manton mini. They were made my ROH in adielade. (I found this out from rob from shadow works last night). The same style were also used on the bob jane camaro. I know that you can get an aftermarket set of the rims for the min but haven’t found any for the mustang yet.
cheers Trev
The re-released 73 mustang kit has minilites in it.
Thanks Trev and mkhoot. I have the information somewhere on what year the Bob Jane Camaro was, '68 or 69 I think, I’ll check in the weekend. It was never updated body wise as the Mustang was. The minilites are quite wide so its really discovering an aftermarket set of the appropriate size. My Bathurst Mercedes 190 has a great set of minilites but wrong size.
With the number of Mustangs (and Camaros) raced in various championships around the world its suprising there aren’t more kits of various race versions in 24th (or 25th).
This is off the Mustang track but Trev have you used any Roodecals before?? Check out my ramblings in the Aussie Group Build about my trials and tribulations last weekend with the Martin’s Filters set for the Merc 190.
nicholma,
I don’t class your post as ramberlings? I class it as down right terriafing [?] I will troubly be trying my roodecals for the moffat serria in the next 2 weeks? how succeful it will be is another thing.
Cheers Trev
