I am thinking of joining this one, huge mustang fan. I might be in with the Trumpeter P-51 B (1/32 scale) with some resin goodies to add to it. I would like to build it with the “Berlin Express” markings but I can only see them in 1/48 scale. Does anyone know if they are available in 1/32?
Hey Modelcrazy, thanks for the reply! I appreciate you letting me me enter the A36! But unfortunately I have not heard back from the seller of it yet, so I do not know if the kit is still available I will let you know if I get it!
After doing a search, the only 1/32 decals I found with the 357 FG are the ones I found on scalemates. https://www.scalemates.com/search-solr.php?fkSECTION[]=All&q=1%3A32+1%2F32+p-51+decals*
But they do not include “Berlin Express”.
I had the same problem with 1/32 “Cripes A Mighty”. The only 1/32 decals also came with a book, and just couldn’t reconcile paying over $30.00 for decals I’ll only use on one plane. You would think there would be more offerings for the top scoring P-51 ace. So I’m going with “Moonbeam McSwine” .
If you can’t find some decals, do you still want to go with the Trup kit?

I’ll get your box art up.
Rob,
Looking good as usual. I can’t wait to find out which badge your going to chose.
Mike,
I hope that doesn’t stop you from joining us my friend.
Miss America instructions were for a late war “K” with either US or 2 different RAF markings. Got a set of instructions coming from across the big pond…6-8 weeks, not in a pdf file. Time frame will fit perfectly for the Betty and RF4C… good thing this one is a long time frame.[:$]
White decals look a little “yellowed” to me so will probably end up painting the red, white and blue on her and only using the stars out of the white decals, or use them to cut masks out to paint them. Gets more involved and have not even started, oh well, got to try and do her justice as the build boss says she is a favorite.[;)]
I actually need to try to build a Miss America myself and give it to my daughter. I have, somewhere, a great picture of her sitting the the Americas wing while we were in Reno about 15 years back. We were in the pits and I asked her if she would like a picture of herself by the plane. Well she talked to on of the ground crew, batted her big blue 12 yo eyes. The next thing you know she was on the wing. She probably has that picture actually, and can show it to my grandsons when they grow up.

To download the badge, right click over it and click “save image as…” and save it to your comupter. From there upload it to your hosing site (Fliker, Photoshop, Imageshack etc.). From there, download that image into your signature line in the Community Settings link next to “Manage Profile” under your name, the same way you would upload a picture in your post.
Sorry for that modelcrazy …the box art thats u show is the wrong kit i meant …thats a P-51D…my kit is the P-51B mustang lll …sorry about that modelcrazy…
Evening folks, I’m ready to reveal the theme my Mustang build is going to be. I’ll also post the site I got the references from. Anyway, I like to build things that are different. I have a few Mustangs, in British and American colours. This time, I wanted to go a bit ‘radical’:
First off, a big masking event:
YELLOW, this guy’s NUTS:
The ‘normal’ OD green nose:
Broke up the aluminum with some subtle variations in contrast:
AND, HERE she IS:
Yup, she’s wearing German colours!!! She’s a captured Mustang:
Field inspection of a captured B Model:
Excellent Mustang website I got my inspiration from.
Now, my example’s a bit of a What IF when it comes to markings. I had TONS of German 190 and 109 markings, so, took some ‘liberties’ with the call letters.
I should have this one done by tomorrow night. I need to let the landing gear set overnight. As always, thanks for lookin’…
Never mind, I read your link, very interesting what Walter Wolfrum thought.
“Although the P-51 was a fine airplane to fly, because of its reactions and capabilities, it too was disconcerting. With all those levers, controls and switches in the cockpit. I’m surprised [their] pilots could find the time to fight…How [the] pilots were able to work on all their gadgets and still function amazes me.”.
Aahh, the A-36 dive bomber. That just seems so strange.
I got you down. Don’t worry about the box art, I’m familiar with the kit.
I actually bought that kit as a first production run probably 25 years ago from Squadron while I was taking a tour there. Nice kit, at least, if I remember correctly.
