Mustang Bravo ;)

This one i actually did a few years ago, but i just decided to post it now. Back then, i didn’t even know about the FSM forums, so i had no way of showing anyone else (other than my website [;)]) It’s a Hasegawa 1/72 P-51B.

Keep in mind this was done in my fledgling years of modeling, so i didn’t know much about doing a wash, and there may be some flaws.

That looks pretty good from where I’m sitting. The colour scheme is very interesting, what’s the story behind it?

Good looking 'Stang… what can I say… I’m bias.

Nice looking build. Always wanted to do Bald Eagle in 1/48 but haven’t got around to it yet. Thanks for sharing.

Regards, Rick

Hmm… i’m not sure about the paint scheme. I’m pretty sure it’s just one of the options that was in the painting section of the box. I think it gave you the choice of Bald Eagle or Don Gentile’s Shangri-La. I chose Bald Eagle because i like the look of bare aluminum. But as far as the paint scheme, it has invasion stripes. I think it was used in d-day. Bald Eagle was stationed in Bottisham, UK in 1944.

I never understood why he had the tops of his wings painted. I think he did it on his “D” model also. Maybe for anti-glare?

Very nice work. thanks for sharing. semper fi, mike
