In my opinion, Ex. 7 is very similar to Safari and it don’t work worth a darn in the forums[B)] I switched over to Firefox at the advice of Bill Griggs & a couple of others who said it was compatible with the new forums.
I couldn’t see the tool bar across the text box in Safari. You may want to try it for yourself.

Well David, I bow to the gods of the fourm[bow] Whatever it was, it’s fixed as far as I can tell. Been working all night with out a glitch. A bravo zulu to you and your team[tup]
It’s definitely an issue related to Explorer 7. I’m working on replacing the current editor (where you post a message w/ the toolbar buttons) with something else that should work with Safari & IE 7.
I feel your pain. We’re working on a redesign for our newspaper’s website. We code stuff to standard for 1 day, then spend 2-3 days altering the code from published standards so that it works in IE.
We launch Saturday…
And we’re discovering IE7 will break stuff that IE 6 didn’t.
And Firefox 2.0 released today. I downloaded it off the Mozilla FTP server last night, as I’m an impatient sort. It breaks some of the extensions I use, but I expect that to be rectified shortly. Remember that “Friends Don’t Let Friends Drive IE7!”
sigh, unfortunately there is no one perfect browser. That’s why I keep several in my arsenal as some sites work well with one browser but not the other. Firefox used to have lot’s of problems with most of the sites I go to, but not so much anymore. Now it’s IE7’s turn to be hosed. [(-D]
As for the smilies, I hope to get those back in soon.
The preview is gone because it wasn’t working and I didn’t have the time to figure that out right now. If you previewed the post and then went to hit post (on the preview screen) you would lose your post. A work around is to post the message and use the edit option.
As for the reply screen, aside from the editor, I moved the display of the message you’re replying to underneath the editor. It’s still there if you need to refer to something in the message, but now you’re able to use the editor without having to scroll down past the message your replying to.
This should fix the problems people were having with IE7, Safari, and other minor issues.
