I remember reading somewhere that you can use nail polish remover as a substitute for Mr. Thinner when doing seamwork with Mr. Surfacer (Q-tip and nail polish remover).
Is that true? I don’t want to test it on a model just in case the nail polish remover would harm the plastic.
I use 70% isopropyl rubbing alcohol and Q-tips to clean up Mr. Surfacer 500 and 1000. It takes a moment or two for the alcohol to ‘take effect’ but once started it comes off quite easy, so easy, in fact, it will remove the primer if one is not careful. I understand 90% isopropyl alcohol works even quicker.
