Hi gang,
following the link in a prior thread I purchased 2 cans of the Mr. Surfacer 500. I tried it out this morning on a practice model and it is not giving me any texture. I shook the crap out of it and still nothing. What am I doing wrong? Any suggestions out there?
Even though it is in the spray can you still have to "stiple " the surface .
To do this you use an old junk brush , even a nylon one is ok in this case .
take scissors and cut the bristles half way down .
after you spray the area to be textured , take your brush and “jab” the paint over and over til you have covered the entire area , let this dry and it should have a slight cast texture to it .
Hopefully this helps out .
Thanks spector, are you putting one heavy coat on, or are you repeating the process? I assume that it is best to work in small sections rather that blasting the whole deck?
You want to texture your armour?
You can also use any classic putty thinned heavily with MEK (or liquid glue) to make some thin putty, and to use it with a sort brush for stippling
