I’m going to build a German WWII sidecar. What is the best color to paint the rider’s goggles?
Don’t glue them on until you have finished all your face painting. Drill the lenses out and put in drops of clear glue to simulate the lenses.
If the goggles are molded on the face already and that is not an option, use a clear neutral gray/smoke that some companies make.

It all depends on your tools… a pin vise with a good selection of bits will take care of most of it. Or your xacto and some needle files.
I have a pin vise! Woohoo! Never used it but I have one. Wife bought some guy’s modeling supplies at a garage sale and those were in the case. Anyway, once they’re drilled out, you drop superglue in there? Where do you keep them while the glue is going in? Lay them flat on something, hold with tweezers? I’m scared to death to try this but I’ll be brave (hehe) if it results in my being able to make models that look even close to as good as yours.
I like using Testors Clear Glue, or Micro Krystal Kleer for the lenses. Apply it with a toothpick or some other sharp pointy tool.applu it around the edges of the goggle, then draw it across where the lens goes.
On smaller-scale figures, like 1/48 and 1/72 pilots in the old Monogram or Airfix kits, I just paint the lens brown and coat them with gloss acrylic. I tell people they’re tinted lenses.
You could paint them light blue to simulate the reflection of the sky. Works for aircraft but might look wierd with armor models.
Yes, some clear paints work on smaller scales… clear green, blue, or neutral gray…

That’s it! with that needle nozzle it is very easy to apply exactly how and where you want it.
