More viewing pleasure (?) tiny F-94C

Originally a Comet kit, then an Aurora kit, then an Addar kit. Squadron markings are my own minor invention.

What no panel lines or weathering! nice build anyway

Just like I imagined it when I had this kit as a kid! Sweet memories!

As I know this kit quite well (I’ve got one buried somewhere) that is one heck of a nice build!

And yet another NICE Clean Build

Bud

nice bird but, I personally think it needs panel lines & weathering to set it off

Pat, that’s a neat aircraft, and very nicely done. I am too clumsy for 1/72 kits, so I appreciate yur work. Which paint(s) were used for the NMF? It looks very smoothly done from the pics.

I agree with Hippy-Ed on the plainness of this one, but how fussy does one get in 1/87th scale – or whatever it is. It’s just a semi-serious toy. The silver is Midwest (used to be Testors Aerogloss) flying model dope.

I agree with both of ya’ on this one, it looks to me like a well built model kit of an airplane. It looks like a model.

Nice clean build hawkboss. Looks like the ones I do. Factory fresh. . If your happy with the results and it looks right, it is right. I have the Emhar kit. Have you done the Emhar kit and if so any comments on that one ?

Nicely done. You said you used a dope for the finish. What kind of primer did you use? I would think a dope would be hard on the plastic. I have a NMF finish looming and would like to investigate all options. Since it is 1/144, I’m leaning toward foiling it, but I’m like to know all the possibilities.

Looks like a toy. Sorry…

Jerry

Looks darn good - especially for a kit that first saw the light of day 50 or more years ago. I remember building an F9F Cougar by Comet back when Comet introduced their plastic line (but it didn’t look near as nice as your 94).

"You said you used a dope for the finish. What kind of primer did you use? I would think a dope would be hard on the plastic. "

Actually, unless you really hose the stuff on, it dries very quickly – too quickly to craze the plastic. Once you have a hard coat on the plastic you can hose it on as thickly as you like. It settles down amazingly smooth. A primer (any auto primer will do) is good for providing an even finish though. Without it areas of putty and the like will show. It is kind of nasty stuff to spray in the house…

As for the Emhar kit, I dunno. If it’s anything like thier FJ-4 or F3H, I would not be anxious to take one on.
