Academy a few years ago came out with a nice tank crew with separate helmets, goggles, combat shoes etc. But that was the last of it. Tanks with interiors will look great with a driver and a gunner and a commander but manufacturers dont seem to realize this. They’d rather come out with german troops with different combats areas which you could not even tell from another. The tanks crews specially those in resin are either smoking beside his tank or talking with another tanker. What we need are tankers in their tanks! Firing their machine guns or talking on their throat mike that’s what we want!
I submit that you are correct, sir. I long for a crew in action… for any number of vehicles allied, german, whatever. One of these plastic manufacturers should take this one on.
I am just getting into figures but I totally agree, a few years ago the armor manufacturers upped the level of their kits but now they need to create more figures “in action” in tanks.

Look up the website for Dragon Models-DML and Tamiya. I would highly recommend either and am looking at buying them as well, some of the crews that come with kits are not the hottest but would work in the interem.
Action figures can be found in Tamiya and DML to take the place of T/cs and would work well for infantry riding on the tanks. One such figure set comes to mind. The Tamiya Schwimmwagen set that is a separate kit has four figures in it that could pass for a tank crew in winter garb. ( Set # MM-253 )"Front Line Reconnaissance Team "
The DML series is mostly German and I don’t know why but the box art and info about the theatre the troops are in is accurate. Many German Army kits exist simply because the popularity of German vehicles and they did have a huge selection. But interesting enough, by 1944, most of their transportation was by horse ! This is mainly due to the armor and other vehilce replacement factor which was bombed out ! The U.S. had mass production and in the days prior to D-Day it was said of Great Britian was being supported by the barrage balloons all over the Island and it would have sunk due to the amont of equipment from the U.S.
Gemany had superior firepower in the '88 and '75mm guns but the U.S. had mass production and that was a major factor in winning the war.

German production actually peaked in 1944. The main reason horses were used more was petrol was increasingly scarce towards the end of the war. You are correct that allied production far outstripped German production.
