A little more progress on the B17g BU-G, this is the RAF WW II version of a counter measures bird, it was used to detect and dirupt radio traffic with the controllers of German Night Fighter’s, in an attempt to protect the RAF’s Heavy Bomber force, a big problem with this was the decals ‘silvered’ on aplication, all the mods are based on a photo from a book and scrounged from my spares box.
A very intresting subject you got going there Lobbie. A shame about the decals though. Some question. Did you lay down a gloss coat before the decals? If so Ive read that if your decals silver after application you can possibly fix this by using an exacto knife and cutting small slivers in the decal then re applying the gloss coat so that it seeps under the decal and removes the silvering affect. Ive heard this works good with Future. Some others hear may correct me if Im wrong (Swanny seems to be a master at Future and decals) and some other may even have a better solution. Hope you get it fixed. It loks great so far (minus the silvering problem).
