More Hummer Avenger info needed

After scratchbuilding the rear stowage box for a Hummer Avenger, now it’s time to detail the turret with the Stinger launchers, so I need good photos or walkarounds from this part, as I need to make the wiring of the launchers itselves, the radio antenna and the .50 cal MG… Another thing… I have the photos from Primeportal and some from the Internet… Is there more than one version of the Hummer Avenger?.. Maybe an older version and an updated version?.. I’ve noticed that the Italeri kit and the pics I have depict very different Hummer Avengers. The Italeri version lacks the top air filter, instead has a box with a little bottle (I think is a coolant bottle) and a pair of supports for the main air filter are simple rods, the Primeportal Avenger has smaller air filter in the rear-top part, and the supports for the air filter are a pair of holed strips, the main air filter is different too in shape and the fans (or maybe I should say “intakes”?) seems to be smaller than those in the Italeri kit. If there are two versions, please tell me where I can find pics for the “older” version, I mean, the Italeri kit. Thanks a bunch in advance. Most regards.

I don’t know where to find any pics, but, yes, the Italeri model is of an older version. The one on Prime Portal is current as of about 2003-2004 time-frame. I’m sure there have been further upgrades as well since then.

Hope these shots help you out. They are Avengers that were deployed to OIF in 2003 aboard the USS Saipan. Occasionally, the Avengers were brought up topside for added air defense for the ship in a high-threat environment.


4th shot is one I found on the web. No idea on unit, timeframe, or theatre.
