More Additions to my Air Forces

In addition to the two MiGs I’ve been buildiing for the Foreign Air Forces MiG Build, I was also working on these two projects.

This first one is my Japanese F-15J Eagle:

I got done with this one faster than I thought I would. I’d been planning to work on it later on in the week, but an unfortunate, (ultimately fortunate) accident made me work on it sooner. While moving things around to get ready for another build, half the decal sheet for this kit fell in my water bowl! So, I went ahead and applied everything while it was all wet.

This next one is my Swedish Saab JAS 39 Gripen. I like the looks of this airplane:

And for fun one night, I pulled out my old mo0del of the Goodyear Blimp by Revell. It was all snap together, so it went together well. It is the battery operated kit with the fully operational lit up message. It works too! It is so cool!

I hope you enjoy looking at these as much as I enjoyed building them.

Comments are welcome.

Nice work Duke. Thanks for sharing.

Regards, Rick

Hey, those are some nice looking builds you have there! I wish I had more of my old stash, and admire you for sharing yours, thanks!

Take care,
Frank

Nice looking builds, Duke. I really like the Gripen as for some reason Ive always liked the look of planes with canards. BTW, which kit is it? Thanks for the pics.

nice work looking good.

They all look great, thanks for the pics…

Great stuff Duke!.. I have done the cheaper Hasegawa JASDF F-15J as you know… But my wife just got me the better kit this morning (same as yours)… I hope I can make it look as good as yours!.. Any suggestions?.. Looks like alot of parts in that box compared to the cheaper version!

Chris in Japan

the machine still lurches forward i see!![:)] they look nice Duke. later.

Rick, Frank, mkhoot, Dave, saltydog, thanks for your great comments! I’m glad you appreciate my work. Thanks for stopping in to check them out.

Thanks bstrump! I think the Gripen is a sexy looking plane as well!

This is the 1/72 scale Airfix kit. It was a smooth build that went together well. The only ‘major’ issue was the gaps at the wing roots on top. Easily fixed with gap-filling CA glue though, so no big deal. I enjoyed building that one!

Thanks Chris! I’m glad you like it. My first tip: use the correct shade of Grey! LOL![:o)][:o)][:o)][;)]

There are a few extra parts yes, but they really go together well and enhance the model. I was able to leave a few off because I built the canopy closed. Otherwise there are a couple of parts that are used to hold the canopy up to show the interior detail. It is a smooth build, you won’t even notice the ‘extra’ work. Enjoy it Chris! [;)][^]
