Yesterday I took my life in my hands (the construction in and around the DC Beltway has become insane!) and journeyed to my favorite artists’ supply store, Pla-Za, in Fairfax, VA. (Aside: if you haven’t got an artists’ supply store — as opposed to your LHS — at hand, cultivate one. You’ll be surprised what goodies they have.)
Anyway I was greeted by an end-cap sized LATCHED display (padlock at the ready) of “Montana Gold Acrylic Professional Spray Paint”. Rattlecans. A whole slew of them — actually, I found out that this mighty array was only HALF a slew, that is, Pla-Za only carried a sub-set of the 204 colors that are available:

There’s a vendor’s promotion going on: buy 5 get 1 free.
I know a lot of airbrushers look down their noses at rattlecans, but these are worth the look. I picked-up a can of G4260 “Black Purple”, did my standard routine of painting an old credit card to check it out (and make a permanent color sample), and was quite pleased by both the product and the control.
Suggestion: See what the Taggers (that’s why the paint display has to be kept latched — locked at night — Montana Gold is just too popular with that crowd) have posted on YouTube.
