This 48 subject is based on the very old Monogram kit, I have added a set of resin 20mm canon barrels and my own brand of resin seat, just to give it a bit of detail. The yellow F.O.F leading edge band is actualy painted, the decals are AM and mixed from the vast spares, the Black/White EIF bands are from the Eduard decal sheet, the ‘PB’ and the ‘kills’ are both fictional.
The paint used on the subject was from the old Humbrol Authentic range of enamel paints for late RAF aircraft, I have not weathered this subject because I had built this model to replicate an overhauled and repainted aircraft.
It looks quite neat, Rob. I built that kit many many years ago and remember it being a fun build… Are the Authentic Humbrol still available in Oz…??? Those have long been gone here…! I’m talking mid-80s at the latest!
Awesome build, Rob! I think that’s the same Monogram Typhoon that I have in my stash (is that the one with the grayish box?). Hope I can start on it one of these months. Well, good luck to you and I’m looking forward to seeing more of your creations.
Another oldie but goodie. The newer Hasegawa kits are far superior in quality, but this shows the old kits can still build up into attractive models. Thanks for sharing.
W donderful build on an equally gfine kit. The late marketing campaign for this kit was one of the first to acknowlege that boys were now men, and that they still played with toys.
