John, I’ve been watching some of those builds over in that GB, and have been really enjoying the progress. Yours is a beautiful rendition. I like the subtle tonal differences between some of the panels on the exterior.
I applaud you, and am jealous I don’t have one of these my stash… yet.
WOW!! Great work, John! I’m impressed! You should’ve put a quarter next to it to show it’s size… [proplr] [:D] Just joshin’ ya! Looks great! What’s next on the bench for you?
The moderator at the V.A. rec. dept has one . he was shocked at it’s size ! I have one too . But it’s still in the box ! The only place it’ll fit is one of the walls .
That is a beauty. It brings back memories. My mother has a picture of me standing next to one at Shanute Field (Air Force Base) in Rantule IL. The wheel/tire is as tall as I was at that time. That aircraft is huge. It is one of the most impressive things I have ever seen in the air. It seems as if it is in slow motion. The AC47 also left a lasting impression. I love the Golden Age of Aviation aircraft and the 1950s/60s. The B-52, B-36, B-47, B-57, B-66 and the fighters of the era kept the bear at bay. That is a great build and tells the story of the long range bomber that could reach out and touch any enemy anywhere in the world. Thanks for sharing.
Toshi, if you can get the Mrs. to buy you a model you have got it made. I have been married for 45 years and the Mrs. has never bought me a model. She has always claimed that I already have to many. Both of my kids are out of the house and on their own so I thought one of their rooms would be a great model room. Both rooms are now an extension of my wife’s closet. What was I thinking? I’m still in the basement and losing ground to my kids stuff, my wife’s stuff, her mother’s stuff, and my mother’s stuff. When I build my B-36 I will have a hard time finding a place to put it.
Well, he could always add a 1/72 B-47 or even a 1/72 Jimmy Stewart if he ever felt the need to show just how big the real B-36 was.[^o)]

I really like the results after all that hard work on the Monogram kit [t$t]
Local Chicago tv broadcast the old move “Strategic Air Command” last week and reminded me of why I became enamored with the aircraft.
Haven’t seen that movie in decades.
