Hello all. I’m about to start on a 1/48 Monogram P-47D razorback (Actually its the Revell/Monogram boxing from '98 if that makes any difference) for the 1943 GB, but more importantly, I’m giving it to my dad as a gift for Christmas to put on his desk at work. The P-47 is by far his favorite fighter plane of all time, and he has had a Testors version of this kit sitting around for 30 plus years that he kept tinkering with and put it away one day never to finish. I’ve got some Eagle Strike decals to make a black/yellow checker board nosed bird from the 353 FG. The main thing I was wondering about are some Eduard photo etch placards I’ve been looking at. Some are suggested for a certain brand of model, but I was wondering if they fit any maker more or less. This will be my first adventure with photo etching, so any advice on technique or exactly which placard to get would be very helpful. Thanks! Alex
If you are referring to P-47 cockpit placards (labels), they can be used in any P-47 kit regardless of the manufacturer. If you mean photo etch P-47 cockpit detail sets (instruments levers, etc…), you can usually adapt it to fit your kit with a little work. Either option will greatly enhance the appearance of the cockpit.
