Monogram Enterprise

Am I nuts, or did Monogram make a 1/350 or so Enterprise years ago? I remember building one as a kid, and I’m pretty sure it wasn’t Tamiya. My main memory is that the flight deck didn’t fit AT ALL.
Anybody know what I’m talking about?

It sounds like you’re thinking of the 1/400 scale Revell Enterprise, which was a product of the late '60’s or early '70’s, if I remember correctly. You’re right about the flight deck, the fit was lousy (but it WAS prepainted). This kit was recently reissued.

That must be it.
The deck was prepainted? I remember spraying the whole thing Krylon flat black, and then worrying about how to reproduce all the deck markings.
I don’t think I ever got the deck on straight.
Thanks, paulnchamp!

This was the old Aurora Enterprise (CVN-65), which was initially released with a prepainted flight deck. It has been reissued several times, including later releases by Aurora, then Monogram, and then Revell Monogram. It is not a very good kit-the Tamiya 1/350 kit is much better, but the best large scale Enterprise by far to date is the elusive Otaki 1/400 scale kit.
