I know the DC-3 and the C-47 are basically the same, but how close are the Monogram 1-48 models. I want to build a AC-47 Puff but can no longer find a C-47. How much extra work would it take to use the DC-3 version or are they the same with just different decals?
I think there is one on E-Bay right now

I have a Cutting Edge AC-47 resin set I’m not going to be using if you can find the C-47 to go with it.
There ya go Vince… sounds like you’re all set up now! [:)]
Take care,
Frank
I’m going to take a SWEG and assume you are talking about a 1/48 scale model. The DC-3 and C-47 fuselages are completely different. The DC-3 lacks the “astrodome” blsiter just aft of the cockpit, the large cargo doors are gone, replaced by a smaller passenger door. The interior floor has passenger seats molded into it, the rear bulkhead is different, and the cabin side panels have curtains molded for the windows. The DC-3 also has different propellers. The Cutting Edge conversion is the way to go - saty away form an outfit valled “Incountry Hobbies”, their conversion doesn’t qualify for the trash. I have some pics of the late version minigun (pedestal) mounts if you are interested. You might also refer to Squadron Signals Spooky for good reference shots. Good luck.

Are you looking for a 1/48th kit, if so I think I saw one today on ebay.
[D)][D)] Ok I guess I better read a little closer next time.
