Monogram B-52 Instructions

Hi, all!

One of our local hobby shops recently went out of business. I purchased some built up models, including a pair of Monogram B-52s in 1/72 scale. I was looking close at one of the BUFFs, and noticed some electronics inside, and a switch on the left side of the aircraft below the wing. This model also has the lower forward fuselage window cut outs molded in… Anyway, I believe this may be the original Monogram (1968, according to Detail and Scale) issue; this hobby shop had been in business for a number of years and did have some old models hanging from the ceiling.

Does anyone out there have the kit instructions from this initial issue? Or remembers/has this kit? I’ll be perfectly happy with scans of the instructions. I would like to rebuild this kit and get the ‘real engine sound’ working again, if in fact this is that kit. But I’d like to know what I may be getting myself into.[:-^]

Thanks in advance!

I built this kit many, many moons ago, about 1967 or 68. The electric motor was in the bomb bay above the false bottom that had the bottom half of about a dozen MK-117, 750 lb bombs molded into a fake bottom. Other than the motor to make the “real jet engine” sound, the kit is the same as those re-issued 3 or 4 times since then. Instructions for any of those kits would work for relocating loose parts, etc. I don’t have the original instructions any more. [alien]

If I recall, the false bomb panel pops out and acts as the battery holder. If the kit is already built up you probably just need to put some fresh batteries in it. I believe it took 4 “AA”. I have the instruction sheet from the 1989 release, but it does not have the detail for the engine sound stuff. If this would be of any help I can scan it for you, just send me your address.
