I haven’t finished the painting, but what you see is much of what I’ve got so far. The pylons and flaps aren’t finished yet. I’ve done a bit of touch-up on the edges of the different colors, and started to weather the radomes. There’s a lot more to do but I’m excited with what I’ve got to this point. Also, keep in mind I’m modeling 55-0049 which had been in SEA service for quite a long time and was heavily weatherworn and had seen many paint touchups. I hope I can do it justice! I keep breaking the tension cables on the hatch (stretched sprue) and I may just not use them at all. I may try thread (instead of the sprue), but it was so much more accessible when the fuselage halves were not yet glued together. I’ll see you in a few weeks, hopefully with the finished model’s pictures. Thanks for looking![:D] Gary

I just came into the house from doing some yardwork, boy it’s HOT! Anyway, I’ve been doing a lot of work on my BUF so I thought I might show you all the latest progress pictures that I took earlier today. I highlighted the camo panel lines with drybrushing bottle paints over the sprayed paint (both MM) using the same FS numbers. Note the different color with the same FS numbers! I’ve already done some weathering with pastels and will work on the highlited areas next. I just put the larger pieces together so I could see where I’m at and where it needs more. So far, so good.
