Here is the ancient monogram daunltess. I added some scratchbuilt bits to the rear gunners station to kinda help out the kit a little. The twin machine guns were made from pieses I had in my spares bin. The decals are also a series of random decals from my spares.
Nice!!
Very nice work! Keep up the good work!
Good looking Dauntless. Remindes me of the one i built so many years ago. Lost it in the war, gonna have to build another some day !
The Original Mike Oscar Juliet Oscar Outcast !
That looks fantastic. I like how you drilled out the dive brakes. Very cool!

Man, your Dauntless looks great !
i like how used light wash around the panel lines and rivets instead of a dark wash. it looks like salt spray from the ocean.
well done
Thanks for the compliments everyone [Y]
Boy, does that bring back memories. I built one when it was first released. Thanks for the memory!
The weathering is very nice.
I wouldn’t have guessed that was an old Mono kit if you hadn’t said so. Very nice indeed. Awesome work.!

Looks fantastic!
Great job on an old kit!
With the right touch, those old Monogram kits can be turned into jewels. Looks great![B]
Thanks all, I really enjoy the old kits. They make you work and think.
As a home inspector I will at times participate in new home buyers seminars. One of the things I will tell them is, “Old does not mean bad and new does not mean good”. Of course I am referring to houses but that is proof enough right there. Nice.
Nice looking Dauntless!
Nice finish! You show that we can make a nice model of the subject, with the old Monogram kits, whatever some contemporary modelers may say.
Drilling out the holes in the dive brakes is almost meditative, don’t you find?
Thanks Baron, yep the old monogram kits have the shape. Just a little reworking of panel lines and some added details make them shine. Drilling out the dive brakes was the most tedious part but I did not mind[:D]
Very well done. How long did it take you to drill out those dive brakes? Thanks for sharing.
Thanks lawdog, it took around an hour to drill out the dive brakes and flaps.
