Well, if I figure out how to do it ,you will see the F100 that “GOT ME THE GOLD” (:darn,I wish my supervisor hadn,t done that") Some years back I did this plane ALL in foil chrome .I mean every square inch ! It was an out of the box build so my recovering veteran students could see how to use foil chrome . I knew the NATIONAL VETERANS CREATIVE ARTS thing was coming , but , I was teaching right? I figured they needed the oomph more than me .After all , although a VETERAN myself . I came home after an interesting military career with nary a scratch .These guys were from “DESERT STORM” and" DESERT SHIELD " That,s fine ,but , they came home missing stuff the rest of us take for granted (ARMS, LEGS , FEET or HANDS!)My VOLUNTEER job was to use MODEL BUILDING as a lay therapy type of program . With my AMERICAN LEGION POST we did it ! Now the supervisor I had, entered my plane without telling me .(I am eligible ,after all )And it got the GOLD for 1/48 scale jet aircraft . Boy , was I embarrassed ! I didn,t want to toot my horn around these guys. They had hard work to do and I was NOT a gentle teacher (CAN,T DO ) is NOT in my vocabulary! The crew (my guys) kept the secret until they presented the AWARDS in the MARTINEZ,CA. facility that year . Wow! , you could,ve knocked me over with a feather .
