I’m developing a 1/200 airbus A380 model kit. I’d like to make a mold of the parts, and if any body is interested maybe produce these kits.
1/144 is too big for airliner models, but the 1/200 is perfect. The drawback is the only excellent kits are hasegawa, and they only produce kits of aircraft being used by asian airlines. Maybe by producing an A340 and 380 I can fill the gaps. How do I build a mold so that I can do this? Any feed back is greatly appreciated.
What is a good quality resin for model making? thanks.
It’s hard to give definitive answers - there are really many variables that will determine which is the best RTV rubber and polyurethane resin combination.
I’ll go home (it’s lunchtime at work here) and write out some types of rubbers to use and for which types of molds.
Because I’m here in Australia, the brand names I use may mean nothing to you or your supplier, so I’ll give you some info on different types of rubber and their Shore-A strengths, as well as a rundown on the different types of resins and how they need to be handled with different types of molds.
