I’m starting a Modified Sherman G.B.

It can be any sherman that’s modified from a WW2 captured sherman, to an Israeli sherman.

So the rules are as follows… It has to be a variant of a sherman (preist, mine sweeper, arv) The changes have to be very different from a standard american WW2 sherman. SO no field modifications (sorry I-beam!) I want to see changes like that of a crockodile, mine sweeper, swimming sherman, or Firefly.

I guess just some sort of variation that looks different. (I’m winging this…[sigh])

(I’m building the Dragon Isreali M50 Supersherman)

So, in other words, you’re doing a Sherman’s in non-US service build?? That include the Firefly?

I guess this will be a pretty big subject… but yeah! The firefly was also a modified version.

Seriously, I might be interested in this one, depends on how my workbench clears up! I’d probably be doing either the DML Red Army (which I don’t have yet), or the DML Firefly Vc (2nd release which I do have) with a full on Formations upgrade set (which I don’t have - but would be a heck-of-an excuse to get it!!!)

Devon, you’re off to a great start on this GB. I admire your willingness to take it on. Just be sure to send 15% of all registration monies to the “Buy Bill (WIPW) another kit he’ll never finish” fund in care of me!!

what about something like an M7 Priest? Sherman chassis, turret removed for a SP howitzer?

Not going to commit right now, as I have more than a ton of stuff on my plate and I don’t have a kit (not that that has ever stopped me before!!!). I might jump in later if thats OK.

Give me some examples of Shermans that I could build and I’ll consider it. I don’t have any Shermans on my shelf ( in fact, my only armor is a DUKW and a M41 Wlaker Bulldog).

Anything classified as a sherman (has sherman in it’s name)

so what do y’all think… TECHNICALLY they had to modify a sherman to turn it into a priest…

What is the definition of modified? Well can modified in the field be included? In that case changing out the barrel and replacing with a howitzer could be considered for this build. If any modification that changes the Sherman from the factory specs is included then that opens it up even more!! I’m not trying to create trouble here [;)] but If I can do a field modified howitzer sherman (don’t know what else to call it)l, I’m in and help me out if this is way off the mark.
